NEW! Lapping Films, Glass Blanks, and 3 Micron Stones
Today we are proud to announce three new additions to our line of products: 6 different Diamond Lapping Films, the Blank Handles and Glass Platens Pack, and the 3 Micron Diamond Stone / Blank Glass Platens Pack (pictured above). For those of you looking to get that perfect mirror polish, any of these products are a great addition to your collection.
The Diamond Lapping Films come in micron sizes 6, 3, 1.5, 1, .5, and .1. They come pre-cut in sheets of ten strips and can be applied to our Glass Blanks. When a strip of film wears out, simply remove it and apply and new one from the sheet. You can make a custom combination of films by applying one or more films to our Blank Handles and Glass Platens Pack. The glass provides a perfectly smooth surface for the film to work on, allowing you to get a perfect polish.
You can also pair any of our Films with our new 3 Micron Diamond Stones with the 3 Micron Diamond Stone / Blank Glass Platens Pack. These fine diamond stones are made by a proprietary method and are engineered to quickly and easily remove large scratches left behind by our coarser stones, leaving you with a new level of refinement.

National Restaurant Association Show 2014
If you’re a restaurateur or other food service aficionado, you’ve probably heard of the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago. One of the largest gathering of food service industry members in the world, it hosts thousands of exhibitors all showing the latest kitchen technology and, of course, amazing food. We here at Wicked Edge are excited and honored to be a part of this year’s show.
We’ll be exhibiting the Wicked Edge Professional Series, our newest and most advanced sharpener and winner of the Kitchen Innovations Award. We’ll be doing demonstrations on the Professional as well as the Pro Pack II, showing off just how an amazing Wicked Edge can not only give you sharp knives, but also lower your food costs and increase employee productivity. We’re very excited to introduce the Wicked Edge to professional kitchens and food service experts from all over the country.

It looks like it’s going to be a busy summer here at Wicked Edge! We’re happy to report that the National Restaurant Association Show was a great success. We had a fantastic time meeting pros in the Food Service industry and showing off the Wicked Edge Professional Series. We’ve already booked our booth for next year’s show, so if you missed us you can come by in 2015. See below for pictures from the show!
Our next show, Blade Show and International Cutlery Fair 2014, is just around the corner; next weekend to be exact. Blade Show is one of our favorite shows to attend because so many of our friends have a chance to come by and chat with us directly. We’ll have lots of merchandise available for sale and we’ll be doing free knife sharpening with both our Pro Pack II and Professional Series sharpeners so you can come by and see the results of our best sharpeners for yourself. We look forward to seeing you there at booth #50!

Website News: We're Moving House!
In order to provide an easier, more secure shopping experience, we will be moving the Wicked Edge site onto a new platform. The entire site, the Forum included, will be moved to a new platform that is more frequently updated so visiting and browsing the site will be smoother than ever. We will also be adding a Glossary.
For all our members, please note that the changeover will require all members to reset their passwords. Members will not need to change their password until the new website has been launched. The launch will most likely be in mid-July, and we will be providing further updates as the date gets closer.

We recently released a White Paper on the importance of sharp knives and modern sharpening techniques in professional kitchens. This report contains some of our latest testing data as well as the results from an independent study done by the Cutlery and Allied Trades Research Association, and is a great for Wicked Edge users. Happy Spring from Wicked Edge! It’s been a while since our last newsletter, so we have a lot of announcements, new products, and features.
First and foremost, we are delighted to announce that Wicked Edge has been awarded the coveted Kitchen Innovations Award by the National Restaurant Association for our newest model, the Wicked Edge Professional. The KI Award is given for exceptional products that focus specifically on the back-of-house challenges a food service establishment can face. In the case of the Wicked Edge Professional, this fantastic new sharpener helps to solve the issue of keeping knives sharp in an industrial setting without having to resort to costly knife sharpening services or constantly replacing knives.
With this prestigious award in hand, we will be attending the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago, May 17-20. We are very excited as this will be our first NRA show and our first major foray into the food service industry. The NRA show has over 2000 exhibitors representing over 900 product categories; everything from food to furniture to equipment will be there. We will be presenting the Professional Series Sharpener in the Kitchen Innovations Pavilion as well as a separate booth just for Wicked Edge.

Featured Product: Wicked Edge Professional Series
Our most advanced sharpener yet, the Wicked Edge Professional Series was designed specifically for industrial kitchens and any other business that requires knives in top condition. The Professional Series combines sturdy, American-Made construction, ease of use, and the precision customers have come to expect from Wicked Edge to make a machine perfect for fast, high volume sharpening. Featuring floating jaws that conform to any knife and one-step angle setting, the Professional Series is great for beginning sharpeners and experts alike. Knives automatically self-center when clamped in the jaws, and symmetrical angles can be set at the same time while still allowing for microadjustments on either arm. The arms themselves feature our popular ball-joints, providing a smooth and precise sharpening action. New Product: The Variable Stone Thickness Adapter
One of the main concerns our customers have is precision. When switching between stones of different thicknesses, there can be a slight change in the sharpening angle. For the majority of our stones, the change is negligible. However, if you are a fan of our Naniwa Chosera Waterstones, keeping the same angle from stone to stone can be more challenging.
Luckily, staying precise just became a whole lot easier. With our new Variable Stone Thickness Adapter, you can sharpen at the exact same angle with any stone without having to fiddle around with your settings.
The Variable Stone Thickness Adapter consists of two aluminum plates that slide onto your degree bar. They can be set at any angle and locked into place, so when you change stones all you need to do is line your stones up to the flat of the plates, lock them down, and keep sharpening without having to worry if your angle has changed. On the Road: More Shows and Expos
In addition to the National Restaurant Association show in May, we will also be exhibiting at the 2014 Blade Show in Atlanta, Georgia this June 6-8. As always, we will have product available for purchase as well as show specials. This will be our 6th year at Blade and we look forward to meeting some of our old fans as well as new ones.
