Where did you get the blank paddles from? and how much are the stones and mounting costing you?

I purchased the blank paddles by just calling the guys at WEPS on the phone and asking about it, the price was quite reasonable. I purchased two pairs of blanks. Ok, now that I have my head out of my A**; I get it. The "20x-400x" does not mean variable focus of anything between 20 and 400 magnification. It means either 20x or 400x; period. Hmmm. I usually consider myself a fairly well educated person. BS in Computer Engineering, Army grunt, etc... Could I have "misunderstood" that in the description; or maybe I just read what I wanted it to say?

How about an update on the minimum angle adapter? Or at least a teaser about it like how it will work?

I picture something that clamps into the standard vise that is canted at an angle to one side or another resulting in a low net angle for sharpening. You'd have to sharpen one side at a time and then either flip it over or something.

Am I close?

Question about the CATRA Laser Goniometer. It gives specs of measuring knives up to 1.7". I have chef's knives with 2" wide blades. Is there any way of using the goniometer to measure such blades, i.e. some sort of work-a-round?

You could try taking a band saw and cutting out the ring between the ±5° marks, but you'd have to make sure the ring didn't change dimension.

The Angle Cube can give the angle of the final edge of a knive you've just sharpened, but the goni might be better at finding the approximate angle on a knife edge that you haven't sharpened yet.
The Hobbigoni is ±2°, and the uplevel Portable is ±1°, but the cost is 4x+ (too much for my blood) the Cube and the Cube has better precision and accuracy.

Thanks for response. I just ordered an Angle Cube, but don't see how I can use on just the final edge as actually sharpened. Can the Angle Cube sit on such a narrow edge? If it can, that would be great as that is what I wish to measure!
