TOPIC: Prepping new strops

Got some blank strops and want to load them with DMT paste. Any prep necessary to load paste?

Hi Joshua
Whenever I put any kind of compound on a strop, I abrade the surface of the leather a bit with a 3M Green scouring pad. I find the stuff goes on more smoothly and evenly. Just my two cents worth!

Doesn't have to be really hard. You will see/feel the abraiding of the leather so you will know. A little pressure goes a long way.
