The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result?

Real neat...
Would be nice if you could put some kind of absorbent material on the bottom..

Wow Phil that is a great idea? I never even thought of that? When I clean them with Bar Keepers Friend no matter how well I rinse there is always a chalky residue left. One step better is if it were removable and washable?
Seeing as you are my special friend and I owe you I will see about getting one made?

I convex sharpened it on a mouse pad with various grades of sand paper then stropped it but I imagine I could improve the edge further on the WE which points the question of how to clamp it in such a way as to enable fine finishing with the Choseras.

As far clamping goes? Recently the guys suggested using a piece of chamois. I cut a 1" square and then a 1/2" square to hold the FFG and fancy blades and have been very satisfied with it. I have never attempted a convex grind with my choseras? So I can not comment, but it sounds like a really cool idea when finished. Seems like it would really take sometime to get it just right? New toy my friend made for me. It holds all the stones and then when I go wash them at the end of the day just carry it over to the sink.

Hey Clay..
could you describe this better so someone like me that has a hard time with visualization might "get" it?
Just not following the handle on the blue base part at all.

I've done lots of round and head knives and they come out really well. I mount them vertically so that the handle sits on the blue base and I do one half at a time, going just beyond the middle so that there is an overlap when I flip the knife around. The leather workers I've sharpened for really like the results.

Phil did you happen to see Clay's video in this thread? It does a pretty good job of explaining the handle. Even I understand now. And that is usually a reach!

Would someone please be so kind and explain to me how you post a picture? I have a Photobucket account, but can not seem to make the leap to posting here on WEPS. My example "the round knife discussion" I would have asked about a week ago had I known how to get it posted?
As usual thank you to everyone helping!

Hi Leo, Welcome to the WEPS crew. That is a beautiful knife! I have one I want and have been putting off ordering for sometime from that neck of the woods. I love the lines and the way it flows. What a great knife!

Hey Leo - welcome to the forum, hope you are enjoying your Wicked Edge!

Here's Clay's video - this knife looks to be a bit larger than the one you have so let us know how it works out for you!

Hi Bob, Hey thanks for the video! I learn from watching much better then reading! Now I understand how it is done and actually want to redo it just to see the difference?

I looked at set up in the vise that way, but was scared I would have two bevels? I guess I should have asked on here and got a suggestion? I think it will come back down the road so it is good to know for next time. Thanks, Clay!

last week i had a somewhat similar type knife to sharpen, but it was un-mountable in the WE, so i just used the 600 to 1000 diamond paddles on it, but it was chisel grind job.

Wow Max I just did the exact knife two days ago! Same handle everything! I couldn't mount it where I felt comfortable either, so I did it on my bench stones. Then stropped it with a strop from strops plus. Now that I think about it I could have used your method (WE paddles) pretty easily.

A friend made this little stone holder for me. It is really handy as I can take them from the table over to the sink and give them a bath and put them back in the rack and then let them dry.

Sorry I thought I had figured out how to post a picture.
I'll go back to the drawing board?

Curtis it looks like we better learn? It appears that we are going in the chisel business
All we need now is to know how much to charge?
