I have a benchmade mini griptilian with D2 and it took the 15 degree edge very well. Push cut 550 pages on a phone book.

I am one happy guy. This system really puts a wicked edge on knives. I have sharpened about 10 knives so far and they are all hair shaving sharp. I did the push test with them through a phone book and had to stop pushing because I reached the bottom (500 pages). I went through the progression from 100 grit to the 3.5 strops. I have notice after 10 knives the mirror finish is getting better. I put a miro bevel on two knives and those have the best mirror finish because I hit the edges twice with the 5 and 3.5 strops.

I going around my house looking for more knives. This weekend the kitchen knives with get the WE treatment. I have not sharpened them since I bought them.

The PP1 does not come with the ball joints. I believe the ball joint arms can be added. Good question on the warranty. I can't say that I have seen any thing stating a warranty.

Ok, I dont even have my WE PP1 yet and I am looking to go down the rabbit hole even more. As the next progression from the PP1, I would like to go to 1 and .5 micron. But, do I go with the paste or spray? Which would you guys recommend? Why?

Got an email today. The WE team is back at the helm. I was told the orders before the shot show should go out this week. If that holds, then I should see my WE PP1 next week.

I ordered my WE PP1 a couple of weeks ago. Waiting for the order to ship. Should ship now that the shot show is done.

I have normally use Arkansas stones by hand to sharpen my knifes. Problem is I am only good at one angle. Good old muscle memory. No matter how hard I try, my hand always reverts to about 25 degrees. I guess that is a good angle for most utility work. I have tried the other rod systems and never really liked them. I saw this one and thought I would give it a try. I did the research and this one seems to be the one folks are raving about.

Since ordering this system, I have gone out and bought several different knives. The reason for the additional knives is I want to test the WE on different steels. So, the steels I have to test so far are 420, 440, D2, S30V, VG-10, 1095, AUS8 and CM154. I also have a whole bunch of kitchen knives that need to be sharpened. Not sure of the steel on them.

I guess the biggest reason I wanted this system is that I am a quality engineer and I have this thing about knowing the inputs that produce the output. I always say show me the data.
