I thought the angle on the Striders was 22. Don't know if it applies to this custom.
Thanks for your feedback....

Just got a DDC SnG chisel grind clip point lefty. Would like to touch up the edge a bit and put a scary sharp edge on it. Then polish it, but don't want to mess it up. Obviously I have no idea of how to do this.
I throw myself on you guys mercy. All help much appreciated and mucho thanks in advance....

Just picked up my first Mayo. A uncarried\unsharpened lefty with a hawksbill blade. I spoke with Clay and Kyle at SHOT (btw, great seeing you guys and thank you for answering my endless questions)about it. And also picked up the curved ceramic stones thinking they would help and on Kyle's recomendation.
Has anyone had any experience sharpening one of these type blades? All info much appreciated....
Thanks in advance

Do you need to raise a burr(never heard of getting one before until I got on here)every time? And do you always need to use all the stones 100-1000 each time you re-sharpen or just touch up a edge?
Forgive my ignorance. New to WE and trying to avoid any\all mistakes I can.
Much thanks in advance again.
Always need a burr?

Trying to get other opinions on this idea.
Read somewhere else that you could break in your diamond stones by doing roughly 15 strokes on each stone by rubbing the faces together just using the stones weight instead of on knives. Such as 100 to 100, 200 to 200 and so on.
I don't have any low dollar knives so this method interests me.
All input appreciated. Thanks in advance

Just joined here very recently. Have a F&S with a set of extra 800\1000 stones on it's way to me. So looking forward to getting set up and learning some tips here to keep me from making too many first time mistakes.
Another Noob here...
