Double Reed
Not sure what you guys are asking about. I believe this section is for those who use reed knives to make their own double reeds for their instruments - oboes, bassoons, etc. A double reed is a reed having two blades to it, unlike reeds for say a clarinet or saxophone where the reed is a single blade.
EDIT: If what I said above is the case, it might make sense to rename this forum to "Reed Knives" or "Reed Knives - Double Reed Makers" or the like.

Re: Pro pack II set screws
Oh, and as far as the set screw for the micro-adjustment, why not use a fully nylon bolt, like this (cut down to appropriate length):

The rotational forces on that screw should be small since the arms are swinging relatively freely on the ball joint.

Re: Pro pack II set screws
Just received a new Pro Pack II from Howes Knife Shop (last one he had too) and noticed the issue with the set screws immediately. A quick search then turned up this thread. I'll be needing those replacement parts too. Just fired off an email to
support@wickededgeusa.com
and thought I'd post here too to make sure it doesn't get lost in the noise. I was stoked to start sharpening tonight, but I'd rather wait until all the parts are as designed first.

Re: White Steel and Super Blue ...
Thanks, ElPasoTom! If you have one in your order, you're going to love it! I have to keep myself from ordering another, though he just came out with what he calls is Perfect profile and I might just give in for that one.
Just realized I sort of hijacked your thread here and I apologize for that. Definitely interested in any opinions on sharpening these steels.

Re: White Steel and Super Blue ...
Hey Clay,
Started taking a few this evening and quickly realized I suck at taking pictures of blades! Going to have to work on that. The photos you take of yours are beauties and really show of the qualities of the blade.
Here are a few I took of Murray's Original pattern neck knife, the right, uppermost knife in the overall collection photo. Hoping that will help size the other blades. I'm happy to take other close-ups of the other blades, but it might take a few days to happen. Other than length, let me know what other blade specs you might need.

Re: White Steel and Super Blue ...
I'm very interested in this too, Clay. I have several Murray Carter knives, shown here:
If that provides you enough for any recommendations, I'd love to hear them. Also happy to take some close-up pictures.
Thanks,
Dan
