I posted this in the welcome mat earlier in error. Can the WEPS sharpen a Ceramic knife? Can clamping shatter the blade? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Which WEPS Base?
I use the paperstone base, wash it occasionally and its heavy enough to be stable. My case of stones prolly weighs more than the base!!

Re: Edge angles, having proble ...
The angle cube is a great addition. The height of the blade edge and thickness of the blade can vary where the right side paddle lines up as the left side is in a fixed position. Using the angle cube (~$25 amazon)you can ensure precise matching angles and repeatability. I keep a log for all my private knives of hole location, lineup on the guide, angle, azmith if any etc. Talk about OCD....

Beautiful job...
I printed the lines out on regular paper and then just put the knife edge down on top. Once I found the right angle to hold the camera so that the bevel would reflect back, I snapped a few shots.
My Epic failed attempt at humor. Meant as compliment to the polished edge.

WEPS Vs "Chris" type blade
Another question.... Received a wavy "Cris" (-10sp) type stilletto from a client today. I have the curved stones but this blade has no edge whatsoever. Would it destroy the mid grit curved stones attaining an edge? Do I just utilize the edge of the existing 100/200 and go from there to put an edge on this?

Good suggestion Clay. Yes, I clamp it tight. Kung fu grip tight most of the time. It marred the coating on a cold steel blade and a satin finished Al Mar Hawk. Will keep vigilent and advise. Thanks for a great product and support.

Clamp Marring blade surface?
I have had the clamp marr the surface of the knife. I put blue painters tape on it but that doesnt last long and the knife can move easily. Does anyone else have a suggestion, or what do you use?
