Clamps Spreading?
Was taking down my sharpener for cleaning, noticed that the gap seems wider than when they were new. I had taken some photos when i had recieved these replacement clamps for the ones that were really bending, now i believe these are also. Attached is a pic of the clamp now.

Re: A drop of oil on the botto ...
I used metal tape to hold a small piece of Stainless Steel where the screw digs into the clamp.
It would be nice to have Clay insert a SS insert from WE so it wouldnt dig into the clamp. I know this would add to the cost.

Re: Wicked Edge Hard Carrying ...
I vote no wheels, no telescoping handle. It would be nice to have a case that sharpener and all accessories, stones would fit into for storage and transport. Price? You get what you pay for! With something that is custom made its going to be a little pricey, but worth it for what it will hopefully do.

Ceramics Wet or Dry
Don't know if this has been answered or not. I now have the 1200\1600 ceramics, and am looking into getting the 1.4\.6u ceramics. I have been using the 1200\1600's dry, do the 1.4\.6u ceramics also get used dry? Or should all the ceramics be used wet?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Kershaw Chive
cbwx34,
No problem, i tried adding directly but it would not post! I need an FAQ or, someone to tell my DA how to do it. LOL!
I was going to put in database later, but please feel free
Top holes
Position A.4
Angle cubes reading 22 Deg
Started at 400 diamods then 600, 800, 1000 diamods, 1200, 1600 ceramics, 14u, 10u, 5u, 3.5u diamond paste
stropping done about 100 strokes per side, i flip strops at 50 to get even wear on strops, becase neww riser really raises the up.
Knife info
Steel: 420HC stainless steel
Handle: 410 stainless steel
Blade Length: 115/16" (4.9cm)

Re: SOG Twitch II
Thanks Guys,
Trying to post in Database but evidently im missing something, it wont let me post
Here are the knife specs
Blade Length
2.68" x .1"
Steel
AUS 8
HRC
57-58
Settings
Top Holes
22 deg
Will have to get back on the allignment
My progression was 800 to 1600 ceramics. Then 14, 10, 5, 3.5u strops. 100 strokes with each strop would flip strops end for end at 50 so the whole strop would get used instead of only about 2/3 of them being used.

SOG Twitch II
With the addition of the new upgraded Ball Joint arms i was finally able to sharpen my SOG Twitch II knife, with an edge that i am happy with. Woo Hoo! I couldnt do this knife before because the standard arms would let the hones hit the body of the knife and the thumb stud. This might help others that couldnt do a certain knife before

Re: Installing New Ball Joint ...
FredHermann,
I had seen that video, my components did not have that much play in them combined like his did. I will take apart again and try. In my haste to hurry up and get it together to see how it would work i could have slipped a little. You know, just like a kid with a new toy..Ha Ha!
Thanks for the reply!

Installing New Ball Joint Arms
Just receieved the new ball joint arms, so far love em! I am now able to do some knives that i couldnt do before (Wenger Swiss Army Knife for one). My question is after installing the new Degree Bar, Riser, Arms (with the nut on the Micro adjust screw of both arms all the way tight against the arm holder) The left side set at 20 deg with an angle cube, the right set set at 20deg with same angle cube. The Degree marking on the bar on the left is at 21deg, the bar on the the right is at 24 deg. When i installed the riser there was not much movement at all from left to right, so i just centered which is pretty much the way it wanted to go.I will always use Angle Cube to set anyway, just wondering why so much difference in marked settings on the bars? The knife that was in the jaws was a Wenger Swiss Army knife, but i checked with just a Starrett 6" steel ruler in the jaws, with the same results. Have I done something wrong? Would appreciate any help suggestions.

Mark, I did a mod on the holders with a Dremel tool, now they fit perfectly, and the lid doesnt pinch on the stones.

Re: Case for Wicked Edge
Mark,
I purchased this case on Amazon (Plano Flip Sider 3744 ), but the lid wont close with the hones in. Did you have to mod, or is this one different?

Re: What's the best way to sto ...
Stephen,
I ordered a case from this site
www.aluminumcaseco.com/
(Manufactured in America (Chicago, IL) with aluminum that was
melted, rolled and processed in the United States)
They were great to deal with. I had them glue a 1/2" piece of foam in top and bottom, they then included 1" thick foam pieces (4 in bottom, 1 in top) that they didnt glue so i can remove and cut out however I want, then use a glue gun to secure. I also got a 1/2" thick aluminum plate to mount my WE on so it wont take up so much height.

Re: Knife Clamping
dgriff
The chamois worked great! Finally got to sharpen the Twitch II. Had to take the blade out of the body because the plastic on the hones would hit the frame of the knife and not sharpen the last 1/8" of the blade. The 1200\1600 ceramics are Sweet! Not quite a mirror edge, but they really put a nice finish on the blade. Thanks to all for your help.
