Re: Sharpening near the heel
If the paddle rubs on the thumb stud of the knife it will sometimes lift it enough so that it wont make contact with the edge at the heel. If this is the case: You might try sharpening the knife at a greater angle to clear the thumb stud, or use very short up-and-down strokes with just the bottom of the paddle so it's above the stud. Hope this helps!

Re: Backlog uodate
I know it's hard but if you can forget about ordering one, then it will seem to come faster. Something about watching pots and boiling water. Anyway, I hope you get yours soon!

Re: Backlog uodate
I just got the E-mail saying mine shipped, with the exception of the 800/1000 grit stones. They will be another 4-6 weeks according to the E-mail. I am order #2252.

Gut Hooks?
Clay,
I hear you are working on a modification for serrated edges. I was wondering if there were any plans for a modification that would handle gut hooks on skinning knives? I'm not sure how much demand there would be for it, but I would definitely buy one. IMO, the gut hook is a great feature when it's sharp. But dulls after a few deer and is practically impossible to sharpen. I would love to put a wicked edge on mine. Just a suggestion.

Re: Strop Care & Maintenance
Does anybody know if the strops that come with paste (14/10 5/3.5) have the paste already on the strops? Or do you get blank strops with the paste in the syringe?
