The examination of the knife seems like it would take a long time, but really it is only seconds. He reaally wants you to find out is the knife bent? Then check for chips and such? If your knife is bent it has to be straightened or your just banging your head on the wall! Knowing exactly where chips are helps when you get to your stone, so you know where to put your energy?
I'm going to time myself and see how long it takes me? But I'm out of practice cause I've been doing a whole lot more shooting lately! So I probably am the wrong guy? I'm thinking Leo Nav is the right guy for this? I think he uses his water stones just about everyday? I would think Leo is our best freehand sharpener!
Leo care to chime in?
The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result?
An old Irish toast, May the wind always be at your back, may you always have work and may you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows your dead. Cheers!

The "official" Wicked Edge booth? Does Oldawan with Bob & Emily count?
Though Wicked Edge is the most prominent system at our table I'm not sure we count as official....too many other systems hanging around with us now ;)
