One draw back is you can't sharpen super acute angles (such as 15 degrees per side) as your left side would have to be set at 12.5 which wouldn't work for most knives. Or at least at some point the left side would be too acute for the WEPS.

I think you will end up with the edge offset from the vertical centerline of the blade.

One thing I found helpful is always rest the blade spine all the way into the depth key in a way that it is completely seatting in the two depth key studs and by doing this the vertical position hardly change. Once I found the knife is completely flush into it then I tighten it up while holding it down. :)
